3lb lean ground beef
1 egg, large
¼ cup panko bread crumbs
4 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon tabasco sauce
salt and pepper to taste, added while grilling
*Preheat barbecue grill to medium heat. Apply a small amount of cooking spray immediately before grilling to prevent sticking.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand until evenly incorporated. Using the bottom of two 6-inch plates lined with parchment paper, press out patties into either 6oz or 8oz portions.
Cook burgers to an internal temperature of 185oF (approximately 6-7 minutes per side) and serve hot with your favourite fixings. Bon appetit!
*Chef’s Tip: I like to cut a white onion in half and rub it on the grill once it warms to help clean, condition, and slightly flavor the grill.
Makes 6 x 8oz patties, or 8 x 6oz patties
