Chef David’s Old-Fashioned Burger Patties

3 pounds lean ground beef
1 egg, large
¼ cup panko bread crumbs
4 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon tabasco sauce
Salt & pepper to taste, added while grilling

Preheat barbecue grill to medium heat. Apply a small amount of cooking spray immediately before grilling to prevent sticking.

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand until evenly incorporated. Press out patties into either 6oz or 8oz portions. Putting parchment paper between two 6-inch plates work well for keeping them even.

On the GrillCook burgers to an internal temperature of 185F (approximately 6-7 minutes per side) and serve hot. Bon appetit!

*Chef’s Tip: Cut a white onion in half and rub it on the grill once it warms to help clean, condition and slightly flavour the grill.
