Pasta Carbonara

How easy and delicious is this Pasta Carbonara recipe from Chef Lawntz! It’s the perfect main course to make for your sweetheart on Valentine’s day.  He even has included tips on how to prepare a day in advance, so you can enjoy more time with your loved one.

Pasta Carbonara

  • One handful of linguini noodles
  • 4 strips cooked bacon/turkey or pork
  • 2 eggs mixed together
  • ½ cup parmesan or asiago cheese

Cook pasta as per instructions to al dente, rinse and toss in a little olive oil. Leave covered in a bowl until you are ready for it.

Cook bacon using your preferred method and reserve fat for later.

Heat a non-stick sauté pan and add 1 tablespoon of the bacon fat or butter. Once melted add the chopped bacon.

Add cooked pasta to pan, and then add eggs and cheese and mix well. When eggs are cooked, serve with a sprig of fresh basil and a fresh roll.

Makes approx. 2-3 servings

* If you are making ahead, take the cooked pasta out of the fridge and pour boiling water over pasta in a colander in sink and add to pan. Bacon can also be cooked ahead of time and added with pasta.
